EAST STROUDSBURG – On Wednesday, East Stroudsburg University baseball pitchers Chase Nowak and Tom Reisinger were named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Atlantic Region teams.
Nowak earned his second-straight first team selection while Reisinger garnered second team honors for the first time in his career.
Nowak joins Jeremy Gigiliotti (2009, 2011) as the only two pitchers in program history to land on the first team twice. In his final year wearing the red and black, Nowak was named the PSAC East and NCBWA Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Year while landing on the first team for both organizations. The Wilkes-Barre native finished 8-4 with a 2.26 ERA in 79.2 innings pitched to go along with 82 strikeouts. Additionally, this season he was a three-time PSAC East and two-time NCBWA Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Week.
Across five seasons with the Warriors, Nowak left his mark in the record book as he set the program records for wins (27), strikeouts (302), innings pitched (267.1) and games started (52) while ranking third all-time in ERA (3.20), fourth in batting average against (.228), fourth in hits/9 innings (7.7) and sixth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.6). In 2022, he helped the Warriors eclipse the school record for wins (41), advance to the NCAA Atlantic Super Regional for the first time while setting the single-season program marks for winning percentage (9-0, 1.000) and games started (16).
Earning All-PSAC East First Team and NCBWA All-Atlantic Region Second Team selections, Reisinger wrapped up a breakout junior campaign with a 6-2 record, 2.64 ERA and a team-high 97 strikeouts across 71.2 innings pitched. In his three seasons with the Warriors, Reisinger notched 202 punchouts, which ranks sixth all-time and holds a 12.1 mark for strikeouts per nine innings.
The duo becomes the 23rd and 24th All-Region selections under 16th-year head coach John Kochmansky.
The D2CCA region teams are voted on by sports information directors in the respective regions. The 16 members of the first team advance to the national ballot for All-America consideration.
