EAST STROUDSBURG – In conjunction with East Stroudsburg University baseball's golf outing on Friday, October 21 at The Shawnee Inn, the Warriors are set to announce the addition of Carson Freeman, Scott Roth and Jay Young as the 11th class of the "Bat Club" the following day at Creekview Park.
Additionally, ESU will host a scrimmage and alumni/family picnic on Saturday.

Three Warriors – utility player Carson Freeman (2017-21), utility player Scott Roth (1997-00) and second baseman Jay Young (2014-17)– join 35 previous inductees.
Previous inductees to the Bat Club are - pitcher/shortstop Joel Bennett, outfielder J.D. Information on the "Bat Club" honorees is below:
Carson Freeman (2017-21) – The Bangor native served as utility player for the Warriors from 2017-21, playing in 138 games (135 starts) and making 16 appearances (10 starts) on the mound. Freeman was an All-PSAC East First Team selection and honored on the D2CCA and NCBWA All-Atlantic Region Second Teams in 2019. In five seasons with the Warriors, Freman recorded a .301 batting average, .393 on-base and .574 slugging percentage to go along with 128 hits (37 2B, 8 3B, 21 HR), 107 RBI, 57 walks, 98 runs scored and 40 stolen bases.
Freeman finished his career at ESU ranked second in home runs (21), tied for third in extra-base hits (66), seventh in slugging percentage (.574), 10th in doubles (37), t-11th in stolen bases (40), t-13th in RBIs (107), 16th in total bases (244), t-25th in runs scored (98) and t-30th in hits (128).
Scott Roth (1997-00) – An All-PSAC First Team selection as a utility player in 2000, Scott Roth was a four-year starter for the Warriors. Playing in 180 career games, Roth notched a .304 batting average, .389 on-base and .456 slugging percentage to go along with 174 hits (33 2B, 9 3B, 5 HR), 62 walks, 96 RBI, 139 runs scored and 45 stolen bases.
Among career rankings in the ESU record book Roth is fourth in hit by pitches (27), eighth in runs scored (139), ninth in stolen bases (139), 12th in games played (180), t-16th in doubles (33), 17th in hits (174), 19th in extra-base hits (47) and times reach base (263), 20th in total bases (240) and tied for 22nd in RBI (96).
Jay Young (2014-17) – A staple in the middle of the Warriors' infield, Young appeared in 165 games making 151 starts over four seasons. In 2016, the Pen Argyl native earned First Team honors from the PSAC East, D2CCA and NCBWA. For his career, Young posted a .361 batting average, .431 on-base and .427 slugging percentage as well as 197 hits (29 2B), 107 RBI, 57 walks, 129 runs scored and 28 stolen bases.
Young wrapped up his time wearing the red and black ranked tied for eighth in hits (197), ninth in runs (129), 10th in batting (.361), 10th in RBI (107), t-11th in HBP (17), 12th in times reached base (271), 13th in games (165), 17th in total bases (233), t-17th in stolen bases (28), 19th in doubles (29) and 22nd in on-base percentage (.431).

The cost is $125 per golfer and the fees include golf, a bucket of range balls, a boxed lunch, hot dogs and hamburgers during/after play. The format for the outing will be a four-person scramble that also includes longest drive contests, a closest to the pin challenge and an opportunity to win a car for a hole in one.
On the day of the outing, registration is set to begin at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start scheduled for 12 p.m.

Scrimmage & Alumni/Family Picnic
The Warriors scrimmage is scheduled to get underway on Saturday at Creekview Park against an Saint Joe's at a time to be named at a later date. At the conclusion of the scrimmage, an alumni/family picnic will be held with free food and drinks.
