FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The East Stroudsburg University men's cross country team opened the 2023 season with a runner-up finish at the Adelphi Panthers XC Invite on Friday afternoon from the Bethpage Polo at the Park.
Competing in the 8K event, the youthful Warriors recorded five of the top-20 finishers in the event and were led by sophomore Landon Boyle in third place with a time of 26:09.90.
Making impressive debuts for ESU was a quartet of freshmen which included Cory Miduri (15th – 26:50.90), Jack Becker (16th – 26:54.70), Tim Gale (18th – 27:04.10) and Ethan Holcomb (19th – 27:04.60).
Newcomers Bryce Keenoy (27th – 27:20.80), Liam Hansberry (33rd – 27:54.00), Lucas Thaler (37th – 28:24.30) ran their first races for the Warriors and sophomore Andrew Dowdell (56th – 29:40.00) rounded out the finishes.

ESU takes a two week break in between races as the Warriors travel to Massachusetts on Saturday, September 16 for the UMass Dartmouth Invitational. Action begins at 11:15 a.m. from the Robert Dowd Cross Country Course.
