Preview: Warriors to Compete at NCAA Championships for First Time Since 1999

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. — The East Stroudsburg University women's cross-country team will race at the NCAA Championships tomorrow in Sacramento, Calif. This will be the first time since 1999 the Warriors will race in the NCAA Championships.

The women's 6k is scheduled to start at 2:15 p.m. EST.

How We Got Here:
After a spectacular regional performance, the Warriors moved up to third place to qualify for their first NCAA Championship meet since 1999. As a team, they dropped their average time from 23:08 at the PSAC Championships to 21:51, an improvement of one minute and 17 seconds. Daniella Napoli finished 8th (21:11.8), Payton Falkenstein was 11th (21:21.8), just outside the top 10. Carla Bautista (23:12.9) and Mia Sisilli (22:13.8) crossed the finish line right after each other in 31st and 32nd places, with Gabriela Orama (22:16.0) finishing just beyond in 36th. Riley Trentowski (22:49.6) and Megan Elgrim (23:03.2) rounded out the finishes in 66th and 79th. Alternate Marrissa McDougall most recently ran a 24:50.6 at the PSAC Championships.
