EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Division II College Sports Communicators (D2CSC) announced that the East Stroudsburg University men's basketball team is ranked fourth in the Atlantic Region poll and is receiving votes in the national poll.

ESU sits fourth in the region behind only nationally ranked No. 2 West Liberty, No. 10 Fairmont State and No. 17 Gannon.

The Warriors hold an 8-2 overall record and a 2-1 mark in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play heading into the final week of PSAC crossover action. ESU is currently third in the PSAC East standings, with its lone conference loss coming to now nationally ranked Gannon.

Since falling to the Golden Knights, the Warriors have assembled a five-game winning streak with victories over Goldey-Beacom, Holy Family, Molloy, California (Pa.) and Edinboro.

Lakeem McAliley has led the Warriors this season with 21.9 points per game, which leads the PSAC and ranks 19th in NCAA Division II. McAliley stands ninth in the country in free throws made (65) and 20th in free throws attempted (76), helping ESU rank among the national top 20 in both free throw attempts and free throws made per game.

ESU's relentless defense has been anchored by Cam Young. The reigning PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week ranks ninth nationally in steals (32) and sixth in steals per game (3.2). The Warriors have forced the 12th-most turnovers in NCAA Division II and rank 330th in steals per game.

ESU visits Seton Hill in Greensburg, Pa., on Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 3 p.m. The Warriors close the calendar year against Slippery Rock in a PSAC crossover finale at Koehler Fieldhouse on Saturday at 3 p.m.
