Warriors Drop Tri-Meet to No. 4 Gannon and Kutztown

KUTZTOWN – The East Stroudsburg University acrobatics and tumbling team opened its third season of competition on Saturday as the Warriors dropped a highly competitive tri-meet to No. 4 Gannon and Kutztown at Keystone Arena.

The Warriors slipped to 0-2 early in the season while the Golden Knights moved to 2-0 with the sweep of both teams. The Golden Bears open the year 1-1 following the split.

How it Happened
  • The Warriors got the meet underway by totaling 35.35 points in the Compulsory, the second most all-time in program history, which included a 9.35 and 9.65 in the Pyramid and Toss Heats
     
  • ESU was back on the mat for the Acro Event where the Warriors scored 25.30 points after recording an 8.75 in the 7 Element
     
  • Heading into the halftime, ESU had 84.70 points following a score of 24.05 in the Pyramid
     
  • Out of the break, the Warriors notched 24.30 points in the Toss with a high score of 8.55 in Heat 2 (Synchronized)
     
  • ESU added a school record 46.250 in Tumbling Event after recording scores of 7.250 (Duo Pass), 7.800 (Trio Pass), 6.900 (Quad Pass), 8.450 (Aerial Pass), 7.500 (6 Element Pass) and 8.350 (Open Pass)
     
  • With a start value of 99.86 in the Team Event, the Warriors totaled 79.91 points to finish the meet with a total of 235.160
