Acrobatics & Tumbling Sets New Scoring Record in Win at East Texas Baptist

MARSHALL, TEXAS – In the program's first trip to the Lone Star State, the East Stroudsburg University acrobatics and tumbling team established a new school record meet score as the Warriors defeated East Texas Baptist, 252.920-227.565, on Monday night inside Ornelas Gymnasium.

The Warriors surpassed their former meet scoring record of 249.380, set on April 2, 2023 against nationally ranked Gannon inside Koehler Fieldhouse.

In the first ever meeting between the programs, the Warriors (2-2) returned to the .500 mark on the season while the Tigers slipped to 1-2 overall.

How it Happened
  • ESU got off to a hot start as the Warriors set a new program record in the Compulsory after totaling 36.35 points, which included a 9.70 in the Toss Heat
  • Back on the mat for the Acro Event, ESU surpassed the previous school record after totaling 28.05 points out of 29.80, including a 9.50 in the 7 Element
  • The Warriors headed into the halftime break with 89.90 points after registering 25.50 across the three Pyramid Event heats
  • After the 15 minute intermission, the Warriors scored a season-high 25.35 points in the Toss Event which included a high score of 8.60 in the Synchronized Heat
  • In the tumbling event, ESU eclipsed the previous program record by three points as the Warriors totaled 48.500 points after scoring 8.050 (Duo Pass), 7.950 (Trio Pass), 6.850 (Quad Pass), 8.500 (Ariel Pass), 8.900 (6 Element Pass) and 8.250 (Open Pass)
  • ESU went out with a bang in the Team Event as the Warriors established a new school record after registering 89.17 points, to wrap up the meet with a total of 252.920
