STROUDSBURG – The East Stroudsburg University baseball team completed a three-game sweep of Saint Anselm with a 3-1 victory on Monday morning at Creekview Park.
The Warriors extended their win streak to four and improved to 7-3 overall, while the Hawks slipped to 3-6 following their third straight loss.
ESU pitching continued its dominance on the mound as the combination of sophomore
Ryan Dewees (5.0 innings), freshman
Gavin Sopko (2.2 innings) and junior
Caden Parker (1.1 innings) limited Saint Anselm to one run on five hits while striking out 11 Hawks.
Over the three-game set, Warrior pitchers surrendered just three runs on 11 hits in 23 innings of work, dropping the team ERA from 7.71 to 5.08.

- Making his fifth start of the season, sophomore Colin Houck went 2-for-3 with a run batted in and run scored
- Redshirt junior Cameron Hubbard was 2-for-4 with a pair of singles
- Redshirt freshman Walker Zampella finished 1-for-3 with an RBI and run scored while sophomore Shanley Wall (1-for-4) recorded a single and a RBI
- Chaise Albus, Parker Frey and Jack Rothenhausler all went 1-for-4
- Dewees earned his first win of the season after firing 5.0 hitless innings, which he struck out five, while Parker collected his third save. Parker inherited a pair of bases runners in the 8th inning and worked around back-to-back singles in the top of the ninth.

How it Happened – ESU 3, Saint Anselm 2
ESU broke through in the bottom of the third inning as the Warriors manufactured two runs on four hits to take a 2-0 lead over Saint Anselm. After leading off the inning with a single, Houck raced home on a base hit through the middle from Zampella, who came around to score on an RBI knock from Wall.
The Hawks pulled within one run in the top of the seventh inning as Nolan Elmore doubled home Zack Clough, who led off with a single, to cut the Warriors' lead to 2-1.
In the home half of the inning, ESU got the run right back when Houck drove in
Mike Kelly, who pinch ran for Haverstick following a leadoff walk, to make the final score 3-1 in favor of the Warriors.

ESU is scheduled to return to Creekview Park on Wednesday at 1 p.m. as the Warriors welcome Staten Island for a single nine-inning game.
