EAST STROUDSBURG – The East Stroudsburg University women's track and field team captured five titles at the 18th Annual All-American Meet on Friday at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
Securing titles in their respective events for the Warriors were Destiny Thompson (100m), Makayla Smith (400m hurdles), Samiyah Little (hammer), Reese Ruggiero (pole vault) and the 4x100m relay team.
Running Highlights
Led by a first-place finish from Thompson in the 100m with a time of 12.66, Chloe Domurat finished third at 13.14, lyssa Vogt took sixth after crossing the line in 13.37 and Makayla Smith was right behind in seventh place at 13.42.
ESU claimed the 4x100m relay title as the quartet of Warriors posted a time of 48.60 to win the event.
On her way to a first place finish in the 400m hurdles, freshman Makayla Smith clocked a time of 1:09.47.
Hannah Skelly notched a runner-up finish in the 800m as the freshman clocked a personal-best time of 2:23.54, Tara Haring finished fourth after crossing the line in 2:33.47, freshman Abigail Kolb took ninth at 2:40.15 and Carolina Kaczmarek (2:53.04) was 13th place.
Aaliyah Cancel led a pair of Warriors with a third place in the 400m with a time of 59.17, followed by Anna Roth in eighth at 1:06.21.
A pair of freshmen led ESU in the 3000m as Gabriela Orama took fourth place with a time of 11:14.62 while Mia Sisilli followed in fifth after crossing the line in 11:27.41.
Freshman Kelly Martin finished as the runner-up in the 5000m with a time of 18:46.23 and Jada Williams took fourth place at 22:18.94.
In the 200m, Alyssa Vogt secured a top-10 finish in sixth place as the freshman crossed the line in 27.95.
ESU concluded an action paced day on the track with a fifth place finish in the 4x400m as the Warriors combined to run a time of 4:28.58.
Field Highlights
The Warriors finished first through fourth in the hammer as Little secured the title with a mark of 48.82m (160-2). Sarah Roth was the runner-up at 42.62m (139-10), Olivia Sforza (40.03m – 131-4) took third and Bailey Grassman (38.27m – 125-6) rounded out the finishes in fourth place.
In the high jump, Elyssa Pemu was the runner-up as the senior cleared the bar at a season-best height of 15.57m (5-1 ¾), while Kamya Edmonds (1.37m – 4-6) finished in a tie for sixth and Julia Beatty (1.32m – 4-4) in eighth place.
Edmonds paced the Warriors in the long jump with a PSAC automatic qualifying mark of 5.42m (17-9 ½) to finish third, Samantha Rosado took seventh place at 5.05m (16-7) and Anna Roth rounded out the top-10 after leaping 4.71m (15-5 ½).
With ESU featuring the only four student-athletes in the pole vault, Ruggiero captured a first place finish as the freshman jumped over the bar at 3.00m (9-10), while Beatty took second place with a height of 2.55m (8-4 ¼).
In the shot put, Sarah Roth recorded a fourth-place finish after launching the spherical ball 10.56m (34-7 ¾) on her second throw.
Rosado led a second through fourth place finishes in the triple jump for ESU as the freshman leaped 10.75m (35-3 ¼) to be the runner-up. Anna Roth followed in third at 10.71m (35-1 ¾) and Edmonds took fourth with a mark of 10.68m (35-0 ½).
In the javelin, Rachel Heggenstaller posted a sixth place finish with a personal-best throw 27.49m (90-2) and Trinity Lucas followed in seventh at 27.28m (89-6).
In the discus, Roth finished in fifth after recording a mark 26.68m (87-6) and Heggenstaller took ninth with a throw of 25.17m (82-7).
