Women’s Track & Field Wrap Ups Competition at Covert Classic

BETHLEHEM – The East Stroudsburg University women's track and field team wrapped up their event schedule for the weekend as the Warriors competed on day two of Lehigh's Covert Classic on Saturday at the Goodman Track & Field Complex.

Running Highlights

In the 3000m steeplechase, sophomore Alycia Smith took fourth place after crossing the line in 13:17.37.

The Warriors recorded a trio of top-10 finishes in the 1500m as freshman Carla Bautista led the way in sixth place with a personal-best time of 4:52.78, followed by fellow classmate Payton Falkenstein (4:55.36) in seventh and graduate student Holly Chambers in ninth at 4:57.59.  

Carolina Kaczmarek rounded out the top-10 in the 400m as the junior clocked a time of 1:08.41.  

In the 100m, freshman Alyssa Vogt took 10th place after crossing the line in 13.01 and fellow classmate LeAnn Grier was not far behind in 13th at 13.40.  

Hannah Skelly paced six Warriors in the 800m as the freshman captured an eighth place finish with a time of 2:25.31.

On her way to a fourth place finish in the 400m hurdles, freshman Makayla Smith clocked a personal-best time of 1:08.97.  

Ariel Kyle guided a quartet of Warriors in the 200m as the senior crossed the line in 27.05 to take sixth place.   

Field Highlights

In yesterday's hammer throw, junior Samiyah Little posted a third place finish with a mark of 48.30m (158-5) and sophomore Sarah Roth rounded out the top-10 at 39.78m (130-6).

Olivia Sforza finished as the runner-up in the javelin with a throw of 37.26m (122-3) and freshman Trinity Lucas took eighth after recording a personal-best mark of 28.90m (94-10).

Kamya Edmonds recorded a fifth place finish in the long jump as the senior leaped 5.13m (16-10).

In the triple jump, freshman Anna Roth notched a seventh place finish with a mark of 10.57m (34-8 ¼) and Edmonds followed in ninth at 10.41m (34-2).
