LOS ANGELES – After serving as the assistant video coordinator for the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2023-24 season, the Los Angeles Lakers have announced that East Stroudsburg University men's basketball alumnus Ralik Wise '19 has been promoted to Player Development Coach for the Lakers.

In his new position, Wise helps develop younger players for the transition from the G-League to the NBA, along with film breakdown, skill work and running group and individual drills.

Wise was retained on the Lakers' staff by new Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick, who was hired in late June.  In Wise's first season in the City of Angels on the staff of Darvin Ham, the Lakers boasted a 47-35 record, earning the seventh seed in the NBA's Western Conference.

Prior to joining the Lakers, Wise was a video assistant with the Atlanta Hawks for two seasons. He also served as an assistant coach at NCAA Division III's Rosemont College after graduating from ESU.

A transfer from Mansfield, Wise appeared in 62 games as a Warrior during the 2016-17 and the 2017-18 seasons, with ESU advancing to the NCAA Elite Eight during his final season. The Philadelphia native helped lead the Warriors to a 45-17 record during his time in the Poconos. Wise contributed 432 points, 285 rebounds, 46 steals and 12 blocks.

In his senior season, he was one of 10 Warriors to average at least 5.0 points per game, with ESU's 94.0 points per game average ranked third in all of NCAA Division II.

Wise graduated with a bachelor's degree in athletic training from ESU in 2019.
