AIX LES BAINS, FRANCE – Following successful stints with BC Beroe (Bulgaria) and HKK Široki (Bosnia) last season, Aix-Maurienne Savoie Basket (France) has announced the signing of East Stroudsburg University men's basketball alumnus Carlos Pepin '23 for the 2024-25 season.
Aix-Maurienne competes in LNB Pro B, the second-tier level of professional basketball among five interconnected leagues in the promotion and relegation French basketball league system. The squad posted a 17-17 record in 2023-24, finishing tied for 13th place among 18 teams in Pro B.
Pepin averaged 17.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 2.1 steals in 18 games with Beroe in Bulgaria. He signed midseason with Siroki (Bosnia), where the Lodi, N.J. native averaged 13.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.2 steals, helping his squad reach the Herzegovina Division I semifinals.
Pepin earned All-PSAC East First Team honors as a junior and senior, along with collecting NABC All-Region First Team honors during his final collegiate campaign in 2022-23. Pepin ranked ninth in the country in double-doubles with 14 on the season, leading the Warriors in both scoring (17.4 ppg) and rebounding (9.0 rpg) as ESU earned a berth into the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in program history. He was named the PSAC East Athlete of the Year during his junior season in 2021-22.
During Pepin's senior season in 2022-23, his 587 points rank sixth most in a single season (most since Jonathan Roberts' season record of 689 in 1989-90). His 287 rebounds ranked eighth among Warriors in a single season, with his output being the highest since the all-time leading rebounder Roberts posted 332 in 1989-90. Pepin finished his career ranked 18th in total points at ESU, 10th in rebounds, 13th in field goals made, 11th in steals and fifth in 20-point games (since 2002-03).
Pepin and Aix-Maurienne open the 2024-25 season against Nantes on Sept. 13.
