EAST STROUDSBURG – Despite taking a 1-0 lead less than three minutes into the game, the second-ranked East Stroudsburg University field hockey team couldn't prevent a pair of third-quarter goals, falling to fourth-ranked Assumption 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at Whitenight Field.
The No. 2 Warriors (1-1) dropped their second game after a dominant 6-0 victory over No. 6 Saint Anselm on Friday. The No. 4 Greyhounds (2-0) secured their second win after a 1-0 victory over No. 6 West Chester on Friday night.

• Allyson Forman scored for ESU, converting an assist from Minke Klijn.
• Assumption's Elle Murray led AU with a goal and an assist. Julia Carbone also scored, while Mia Salah added an assist.
• ESU led 22-10 in shots and 10-5 in shots on goal.
• The Warriors held a 13-9 advantage in penalty corners.
• Greyhound goalkeeper Paige Gillette made eight saves in the win. Sydney Pope started in goal for the Warriors, making two saves in the first half. Jet Vermeulen allowed two goals and made a save in the final 30 minutes of the contest.
