FROSTBURG, Md. — The East Stroudsburg women's tennis team traveled to Maryland to take on Frostburg State Friday afternoon, narrowly falling to the Bobcats 4-3. In an evenly fought match, Frostburg State's doubles point was the deciding factor after the teams split singles play.

HIGHLIGHTS
The main positive from the dual for the Warriors was that out of the seven athletes that competed, five earned a win on during the competition. Starting in doubles, Jenna Kastell and Theresa Bauer outlasted the Bobcats' Patricia Castejon and Marissa Greg in the No. 2 position for the Warriors' lone doubles win, 7-6. East Stroudsburg bounced back in singles play, splitting the six matches to nearly come back after ceding the doubles play point. Ariel Kelsick got the Warriors on the board, winning in the second spot 6-1, 6-3 over Alyssa Kush. Audrey Conover and Claudia Ermina got the other two points for ESU, nearly mirroring each other's scores with 6-3, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-3 wins, respectively. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
Frostburg State's strong doubles play earned the Bobcats the early advantage, winning the first and third position matches to jump ahead 1-0 in the dual. The top of Frostburg State's lineup got the job done for the hosts, winning two of the three top matches while clinching the dual with a win out of the fifth spot.
