BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The ESU women's cross country team delivered a strong performance at the 2025 Paul Short Run presented by ASICS, successfully finishing 18th out of 39 participating teams.
The team distinguished itself by being the first PSAC school and the first Division II school to complete their race, finishing only behind Division I institutions.
Payton Falkenstein led the charge by being the first Division II runner to cross the finish line in the Brown Race. Highlighting the team's ongoing improvement, several student-athletes achieved personal best times at the meet, including
Ashley Landis,
Morgan Salmon,
Tara Haring,
Hannah Skelly, and
Kiera Wimbush.
In the Women's Brown Race (6K), Falkenstein was the lead finisher for ESU with a time of 21:25.5. She was followed by
Sarah Williams, running 22:27.2. Wimbush, who recorded a personal best (PB), finished next with a time of 23:01.5.
Carla Bautista crossed the line with a time of 23:14.6, just ahead of
Mia Sisilli, who finished at 23:21.6.
Riley Trentowski was the next ESU athlete to finish, clocking 23:27.5. Completing ESU's representation in the Brown Race were
Megan Elgrim (25:37.1),
Sidney Hutt (25:38.0), and
Gabriela Orama (25:44.5).
The Open Race competitors also performed well, with all four listed finishers achieving personal bests. The first ESU runner in the Women's Open Race (6K) was Landis, finishing in 24:11.3. She was followed by Salmon, who ran 24:51.3. Haring finished next with a time of 25:07.9. Rounding out the Open Race results for ESU was Skelly, recording a time of 26:15.5.
