The Warriors are off to a 7-1 start in duals, opening with seven straight wins, including a 24-20 victory over the No. 18 Millersville Marauders. ESU is the fourth-highest ranked team from the PSAC behind No. 6 Pitt-Johnstown, No. 10 Kutztown, and No. 16 Gannon. The Warriors have all three of those teams ahead on their schedule, with Gannon being the first as they'll take on the Golden Knights and No. 19 West Liberty in Erie, Pa. on Jan. 23.
Ciampa earned an eighth-place ranking in the 184-pound weight class, becoming the second-highest ranked PSAC wrestler in that class. Ciampa has picked up four wins by fall, one by major decision, and one more by decision in duals. In the three open tournaments ESU has competed in, Ciampa has compiled a 13-1 record, winning the 184-pound weight bracket twice and finishing as the runner-up once.
Jasionowicz came in at 20th in the 125-pound weight class, one of three wrestlers in the PSAC to earn a ranking in the class. Jasionowicz has gone 4-1 in duals with all of his wins coming by fall, and has built up a 7-2 record with a second-place finish in the two opens he's competed in.
The Warriors compete in two tournaments before their next dual, starting with the Midwest Classic this weekend in Indinapolis, Ind., and they'll return from winter break with the Virginia Duals on Saturday, Jan. 10 in Hampton, Va.
