EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. — With winter break approaching, ESU men’s basketball hosts a pair of PSAC West teams at Koehler Fieldhouse this weekend to cap off the 2025 portion of its season. Coming off of a 25-point win at Clarion to improve to 7-1, the Warriors will take on Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday and wrap up the weekend with Indiana (Pa.) on Sunday.

SCOUTING EAST STROUDSBURG

  • The Warriors bounced back from their first loss of the season last time at home with an 86-61 win against Clarion on Tuesday night.
  • ESU ranks first in Division II and would lead Division I as well in bench points per game, averaging 48.3. Adrian Brito and Ethan Millirons lead that group, as the two combine for 27.1 PPG with the second unit.
  • Millirons went 5-for-5 from three-point range, moving into first place across Divisions I, II, and III. The senior guard has made 32-of-52 attempts from deep to start the year, averaging 13.5 PPG on 4.0 three pointers a game.
  • Brito put together an efficient night in the Warriors’ win over Clarrion, scoring 10 points in 19 minutes. Brito shot 4-for-8 from the field and has yet to shoot below 50.0% in a game this season, currently ranking 12th in Division II in field goal percentage with 67.2%.
  • The Warriors are second in Division II in assists per game with 20.8 as a team. Though no one leads the team by a wide margin in that category, Brito, Keni Williams, Nasir Griffin, and Jalen Pichardo all have recorded over 20 total through eight games.
  • Griffin had a good bounce back performance offensively for the Warriors, scoring 12 points in 22 minutes. The senior forward reached double-digit scoring for the fifth time this season on 4-for-7 shooting from the field and splitting four three-point attmepts, contributing with five rebounds and three assists on Tuesday.
  • Williams scored 10 points against Clarion, the first time he’s reached double figures in the month of December. Williams got off to a hot start to start the season and looks to have settled in after making half of his attempts from the field. Even when his shots aren’t falling though, Williams’ presence on defense has made an impact for the Warriors. The freshman guard has recorded a steal in every game this season, averaging 3.4 per game.
  • Pichardo continues to be a force on the glass, as he grabbed 13 of ESU’s 46 rebounds against Clarion. Pichardo is now up to an average of 8.6 rebounds per game, which ranks 4th in the PSAC. Additionally, his 3.3 offensive rebounds per game are 5th in the conference. His individual efforts have helped ESU average 42.1 total rebounds and 15.9 offensive rebounds per game, ranking 27th and 11th in Division II, respectively.
  • As evident by their 7-1 start, the Warriors have had success on both ends of the floor to start the 2025-26 season. ESU boasts a scoring offense that ranks seventh in Division II with 95.1 PPG. While their scoring defense hasn’t had the same pedigree, the Warriors are still outscoring their opponents by an average margin of 14.4 PPG and force 19.4 turnovers per game, ranking 27th and 10th in Division II.
