Men's Basketball Garners More Votes in NABC Poll

12/2/2025 8:47:00 PM

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. — The ESU men's basketball team is moving closer to a ranking in the top NABC top 25 poll, receiving 27 votes in the latest release.

The Warriors received votes in the first round of rankings last week, 19, moving up five spots with 27 this week. Concordia-St. Paul (Minn.) is the only non-ranked team that received more votes, 36, than ESU. The Warriors picked up one more win between the rankings being released, a 98-92 victory over Mercy on Sunday night. ESU and Gannon, who is ranked 17th, are the only two PSAC teams to appear in the rankings.

ESU's offense has been key to its success and early-season recognition, as the Warriors average 96.8 PPG, the eighth-most in NCAA Division II. Though opponents are averaging 80.2 PPG against East Stroudsburg, the Warriors still boast a scoring margin of 16.6 PPG, 35th in the country, and limit their opponents to just 24.4% from three-point range, also the eighth-best in Division II. One of the strengths in ESU's offense is its plethora of scoring options, as the Warriors currently have seven players averaging 10.0 PPG or more.

ESU wraps up non-conference play tonight at Molloy before taking on Seton Hill at 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Koehler Fieldhouse in their first PSAC game of the season.
