FRISCO, Texas — ESU men's basketball alum
Cam Young was claimed from the available player pool by the Texas Legends, the team announced today.
Young previously received a training camp invite to the Delaware Blue Coats and now lands with the NBA G-League affiliate for the Dallas Mavericks. Young played his junior and senior seasons at East Stroudsburg after transferring in from Saint Peter's and Bowling Green prior to the 2023-24 season.
After appearing in all 30 games and making six starts in his first year, Young became a fixture for the team in the 2024-25 season. The senior wing earned PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Year and First Team All-PSAC honors in his final season after leading the conference in steals and steals per game. On the offensive end of the floor, Young was ESU's third-leading scorer with 11.5 PPG while shooting 53.0% from the field.
The Legends are off to a 4-6 start to their season, currently in sixth place in the South Division. Their next game is at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7 against the Birmingham Squadron in Birmingham, Ala.
