EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - Led by freshman
Sadie Kauffman's four goals and
Abby Simonetti's eight saves, the Warriors open up the 2025 season with a convincing 17-6 win over the Jefferson Rams.
The Warriors (1-0) open the season with a win for the seventh consecutive season.
Notables
In her collegiate debut, Kauffman recorded four goals on 11 shots and an assist, to lead the Warriors in scoring.
The senior and team captain
Campbell Heller recorded four assists for a new career high and a goal in the game.
Two Warriors registered hat tricks on the day,
Hannah Schiemer and
Jolee Roth each scored a trio of goals. Scheimer also led the team with three ground balls.
Ariana Tucci found the back of the net twice in the fourth quarter.
The Division II Goalkeeper of the Year, Simonetti, recorded eight saves while in the cage and allowed only one goal in the second half.
Molly Atwell recorded her new career high after leading the team with her five draw controls.
Lauren Hallman added two goals and an assist.

Sophia Graffeo and junior
Lauren Waite both were able to find the back of the net.
How It Happened
The Warriors opened the game with three goals in the first quarter, with Kauffman, Hallman, and Roth all scoring a goal. Jefferson cut the lead to 3-2 after scoring two goals of their own.
For most of the second quarter, ESU controlled the pace when they jumped out to a 6-2 lead after four minutes in the second quarter. But the Rams answered back and by half the score was 7-5 with the Warriors having the edge over the Rams.
After half, the Warriors responded by scoring five unanswered goals in the 3rd quarter against the Rams and taking a convincing 12-5 lead.
Tucci scored a pair of goals in the 4th and Heller recorded two assists to help bury the rams. The Warrior's cruised to a 17-6 win, equaling their total goals scored against the Rams last season.
