ESU Women’s Track and Field Competes at Sykes and Sabock Challenge, Records 2 NCAA Provisional Marks

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The ESU women's track and field team competed at the Sykes and Sabock Challenge at Penn State.
 
Riley Trentowski ran a PSAC-leading time in the 800 meters, moving up to No. 2 on ESU's all-time top-10 list. Samiyah Little broke her school record in the weight throw, recording another NCAA provisional mark. In the high jump, Shannon Harnett posted an NCAA provisional mark and moved to No. 2 in the conference rankings.
 
PSAC Automatic Qualifiers
Payton Falkenstein (3,000 meters) and Daniella Napoli (3,000 meters) posted new PSAC automatic qualifying times.
 
Running Highlights
In the 800 meters, Riley Trentowski ran a personal best of 2:15.21, finishing fourth. Her time leads the conference and distances her from the rest of the field by more than two seconds. She also moves to No. 2 on ESU's all-time top-10 list and improves her freshman record.
 
Kristian Dorsett and Alyssa Vogt posted new collegiate bests in the 200 meters, clocking in at 27.15 and 27.59 seconds, respectively.
 
In the 3,000 meters, Payton Falkenstein placed seventh with a personal record of 10:06.59, the second-fastest time in the conference. Her mark ranks No. 8 in school history. Daniela Napoli moved to fourth in the conference with a career-best 10:18.71.
 
To cap off the day, the 4x400-meter relay team of Cancel, Trentowski, Matthews, and Smith ran the seventh-fastest time in the conference, finishing in 4:06.89.
 
Field Highlights
Samiyah Little secured first place in the weight throw with a best mark of 18.15 meters, extending her conference-leading distance and breaking her own school record again. She now ranks No. 18 in Division II.
 
In the triple jump, Shannon Harnett placed fourth with a mark of 11.67 meters. Harnett also recorded an NCAA provisional height of 1.68 meters in the high jump, moving to No. 2 in the conference rankings. She and teammate Porschia Bennett now hold the No. 1 and No. 2 spots in the PSAC rankings.
 
The 117th Millrose Games
Samiyah Little represented the Warriors at the 117th Millrose Games and claimed sixth place.

The Warriors travel to Geneva, Ohio, for the SPIRE Indoor Games on Feb. 14-15.
