Game Notes

The Series: Gannon has won the last two meetings, defeating ESU 110-96 last season and 105-93 earlier this season in November. Both teams rank among the top in point differential but achieve success in different ways. The Warriors rank eighth in the PSAC in points allowed, while the Golden Knights sit 15th but lead the conference in scoring at 100.4 points per game. ESU follows behind, ranking second at 90.7 points per game

Scouting ESU:  Last week, Cam Young and Lakeem McAliley were named to the PSAC East First Team. Young also earned PSAC East Defensive Player of the Year honors, while Evan Morton was recognized as the PSAC East Freshman of the Year. Today, McAliley added to his accolades by being named to the D2CCA All-Region Second Team.

Head coach Jeff Wilson has guided the Warriors to their eighth NCAA Tournament appearance during his tenure. He looks to lead ESU to its second NCAA Atlantic Region Championship after securing the program’s first title in 2018.

Scouting Gannon: In the PSAC West, Tasman Goodrick and Ernest Shelton earned First Team honors, while freshman Pace Prosser was named to the Second Team. The trio played a pivotal role in Gannon’s repeat as PSAC Champions. Additionally, Goodrick was recognized with D2CCA All-Region Second Team honors.

The Golden Knights are led by first-year head coach Easton Bazzoli, who was an assistant coach for Gannon last season when they captured the PSAC Championship and Atlantic Region Championship. Before joining Gannon, Bazzoli served as an assistant coach at Union.

A Look Ahead: The winner of this game advances to the Atlantic Regional semifinal round on Sunday and will face the winner of No. 3 Virginia State vs No. 6 West Chester game.
