EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University baseball team split its Saturday doubleheader against Southern New Hampshire.
The Warriors (14-3) fell short in Game 1, losing 6-2, but bounced back in Game 2 with a 5-2 comeback victory over the Pennmen (8-6) to win the series.
Pitching Notables
In Game 2,
Peyton Brannock (2-1) delivered 1.2 hitless innings in relief to earn the win, while
Caden Parker closed out the game for his fourth save of the season.
Batting Notables
Parker Frey played a key role in both games, tripling in two runs in Game 1 and reaching base safely in Game 2.
Jack Rothenhausler went 2-for-3 in Game 1, contributing an RBI to tie the game at 2 in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Shanley Wall collected three hits across the two games and drove in a run in Game 2.
Zampella's three-run home run in the eighth inning of Game 2 broke a tie and sealed the victory.
Game 1 Recap
Southern New Hampshire opened the scoring in the second inning with a solo home run. The Penmen added three more runs in the third, highlighted by another home run. Despite a two-run triple by Frey in the sixth, East Stroudsburg could not complete the comeback.
Game 2 Recap
East Stroudsburg answered Southern New Hampshire's early run with a tying RBI single from Wall in the third. Trailing 2-1 in the eighth, the Warriors erupted for four runs, after Rothenhausler hit a sacrifice fly, Zampella nailed a 2-1 pitch over the fence for a three-run home run. Parker locked down the ninth inning to preserve the win.

East Stroudsburg will look to improve its record with a single game against Queens on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Creekview Park before the start of PSAC play.
