EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The No. 11 East Stroudsburg University baseball team fell 11-7 to Queens College on Tuesday evening at Creekview Park.
The Warriors (14-4) kept it close for most of the game until a five-run seventh inning by the Knights (6-11) extended the visitors' lead to seven. Queens maintained the advantage to secure the win.
Pitching Highlights
Jack Bacolo made his second appearance of the season, retiring the Knights in order and striking out one.
Batting Highlights
Troy Davis went 3-for-3 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base.
Jack Rothenhausler had two RBIs with a double and a solo home run.
Connor Reilly recorded two hits, including a solo home run, and stole a base in the sixth.
Shanley Wall drove in two runs with a walk and a sacrifice fly.
How it happened
The first five innings featured back-and-forth action from both teams. Reilly and Rothenhausler each hit solo home runs, with Rothenhausler also adding an RBI double.
Wall's sacrifice fly in the fourth brought ESU within one, trailing 5-4.
Queens responded with a run in the fifth before breaking the game open with five runs in the seventh, making it 11-4.
ESU threatened in the eighth as Davis, Wall and
Joel Bonner added runs to cut the deficit to 11-7, bringing the tying run to the plate.
However, the Warriors were unable to complete the comeback as Queens held on for the win.

ESU opens its PSAC East schedule with a doubleheader at West Chester on Friday, March 21, at 1 p.m. The teams will then meet for another doubleheader at Creekview Park on Saturday, March 22, beginning at 1 p.m.
