No. 11 Warriors Take First Two from No. 10 Golden Rams at Creekview Park

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The No. 11 East Stroudsburg University baseball team swept No. 10 West Chester in Saturday's doubleheader, winning 12-3 and 11-5 at Creekview Park.
 
The Warriors (16-4, 2-0) opened PSAC East play with a strong start, taking the first two games of the four-game series against the Golden Rams (15-5, 0-2) in dominant fashion in a matchup of nationally ranked teams.
 
Pitching Highlights
Ryan Dewees (W, 4-0) led the Warriors, tossing 5.1 innings while allowing four hits and striking out three. Patrick Yoder pitched a scoreless 1.2 innings with two strikeouts.
 
Gavin Sopko (W, 3-1) earned the win, pitching 3.1 innings. Cole Dymek, Johansel Brito, and Jake Albert combined for 3.2 scoreless innings to close out game 2 for ESU.
 
Hitting Highlights:
Jack Rothenhausler led the Warriors' offense with seven RBIs on the day, including six in Game 2. He recorded three hits, including two doubles, tying him for the most career doubles in program history.
 
Dennis Pierce drove in five runs across both games, collecting three hits and two walks, including a solo home run in Game 1.
 
Shanley Wall and Parker Frey each had four hits on the day. Wall drove in three runs, while Frey added two RBIs. Both also homered in Game 1.
 
Eight Warriors recorded at least one RBI, with five tallying multiple RBIs in the doubleheader sweep.

Game 1: How It Happened
Pierce opened the scoring with a solo homer in the first, while Rothenhausler and Walker Zampella added RBIs for a 3-0 lead.

Wall extended the advantage with a three-run homer in the third. Frey launched a two-run shot in the fourth, and Francisco Taveras added an RBI single in the sixth to cap the 12-3 win.
 
Game 2: How It Happened
The Warriors jumped ahead early and never looked back, securing an 11-5 victory.

Rothenhausler led the offense with a three-run double in the second and another two-run double in the third, tying the program's career doubles record.

Pierce, Ryan Manning, and Joel Bonner also contributed RBIs as ESU controlled the game throughout.
