Six Warriors Win Gold on Final Day; Men Finish Second Overall, Women Third; Harnett Named Outstanding Field Athlete

BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The East Stroudsburg University women's and men's teams wrapped up competition at the PSAC Indoor Championships on Sunday, with both teams producing three first-place finishers on the final day.
 
 
Championship Performances
Daniel Smith seized the day in the men's high jump, recording a lifetime best and NCAA provisional mark of 2.07 meters (6 feet, 9 ½ inches) to claim the gold medal.
 
Breakout freshman Riley Trentowski won gold in the 800 meters with a time of 2:17.12, finishing nearly two seconds ahead of the field. She became the first Warrior in school history to win the indoor 800-meter title.
 
Cole Gorham repeated as the indoor shot put champion with another NCAA provisional mark, throwing 18.09 meters (59 feet, 4 ¼ inches).
 
In the women's triple jump, Shannon Harnett captured the title, leaping from third to first on her final attempt with an NCAA provisional mark of 11.96 meters (39 feet, 3 inches).
 
Harnett was later named the Outstanding Field Athlete of the Meet.
 
In the women's high jump, Porschia Bennett won with a jump of 1.70 meters (5 feet, 7 inches), an NCAA provisional mark. Harnett finished second at 1.67 meters (5 feet, 5 ¾ inches).
 
The men's triple jump squad swept the podium, claiming gold, silver, and bronze.
 
Jack Gorham won the event, securing an NCAA provisional mark of 14.63 meters (48 feet) on his final attempt.
 
Jaden Johnson placed second with a jump of 14.20 meters (46 feet, 7 ¼ inches), while Daniel Smith added to his medal haul with a third-place finish at 14.19 meters (46 feet, 6 ¾ inches).
 
Additional Podium Finishes
Freshman Albert Morton recorded a collegiate best of 2.04 meters (6 feet, 9 ½ inches) to earn the bronze medal in the high jump.
 
Also competing in the high jump, Kamoni Smith-Johnson, Peter Stanislavsky, and Jaden Johnson tied for sixth place, each clearing 1.94 meters (6 feet, 4 ¼ inches).
 
Anthony Voto followed up his gold medal performance from the previous day with a fourth-place finish in the shot put, registering an NCAA provisional mark of 16.76 meters (55 feet).
 
In the 60-meter hurdles, Makayla Smith clocked a lifetime best of 9.19 seconds to finish seventh.
 
Ragiariki Lewis placed fourth in the men's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.36 seconds.
 
Payton Falkenstein secured a fifth-place finish in the mile, running a personal-best 5:09.91.
 
Nick Gdowik added to the men's team score with an eighth-place finish in the mile, crossing the line in 4:24.19.
 
Tyler Boone earned a bronze medal in the 400 meters, finishing third with a time of 49.66 seconds.
 
Boone later competed in the 200 meters, running 22.52. Miguel Charlery joined him on the podium, placing seventh with a time of 22.56.
 
In the women's 3,000 meters, Falkenstein added to her medal count with a third-place finish in 10:15.60.
 
The men's 4x400-meter relay team of Jaden Collins, Miguel Charlery, Ryan Ditty, and Tyler Boone finished as the runner-up with a time of 3:21.77.
 
Team Standings
The women's team would finish the championship meet third overall scoring a total of 82.75 points. This is their highest team finish since 2018 where they were third by scoring 66 points.
 
On the men's side, it all came down to the 4x400 meter relay. Heading into the final event, the Warriors held a narrow one-point lead over Slippery Rock. By securing second place in the relay and finishing ahead of Slippery Rock, the team locked in second place overall with 121.6 points—their best finish since 2020.
