EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University women's lacrosse team suffered its first loss of the season, falling 12-6 to Slippery Rock.
The Warriors (2-1) fell behind early to The Rock (3-0) and mounted a late run, but it wasn't enough for a comeback.

Sadie Kauffman led ESU with three points on two goals and an assist. She also recorded six draw controls.

Abby Simonetti posted her third straight game with 10 saves.
How it happened
After ESU tied the game at 1-1, Slippery Rock responded with six unanswered goals to take a 7-1 lead.
Delia Lederman found the net just before halftime to cut the deficit to five.
In the second half, the Warriors scored three straight goals to make it an 8-5 game with 9:59 remaining in the fourth quarter. However, Slippery Rock sealed the win by scoring four goals in the final period to secure a 12-6 victory.
