ANNVILLE, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University women's lacrosse team used 10 consecutive goals to secure a 19-6 victory over IUP in a neutral-site matchup at Arnold Field on the campus of Lebanon Valley College.
The Warriors (3-1) played the Crimson Hawks (1-3) close in the first half but pulled away with a dominant second half.
Notables
Sadie Kauffman led the way with seven goals and three draw controls.
Arianna Tucci totaled six points, scoring four goals and adding two assists.
Paige Moreland and
Lauren Hallman each recorded three points. Moreland had a goal and two assists, while Hallman notched a hat trick.
How it happened
Kauffman opened the game with three straight goals as ESU built a 6-1 lead. IUP responded with a goal late in the first period to make it 6-2. The Crimson Hawks continued to chip away in the second, cutting the deficit to three at halftime.
The Warriors took full control in the second half, scoring 10 consecutive goals to push the lead to 18-5 before closing out the 19-6 victory.
