Sweep Complete, Athlete of the Week Honored, and Warriors Climb National Rankings

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University baseball team dominated the weekend series, securing a 4-0 sweep against Bloomsburg University, capped off by a pair of road victories on Saturday at Danny Litwhiler Field. With the sweep, the Warriors improved to 20-6 overall and 6-2 in conference play, moving up one spot in the latest DII Baseball Rankings. The team now shifts focus to its upcoming weekend series against Mansfield University.

Rothenhausler Named Athlete of the Week
After an outstanding performance, senior Jack Rothenhausler has been recognized as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Athlete of the Week. Rothenhausler was instrumental in ESU's perfect week, posting a .500 batting average, a 1.417 slugging percentage, and a .625 on-base percentage.

The Bethlehem native recorded six hits, including three home runs and two doubles, along with three walks, 10 RBIs, and six runs scored. He currently ranks second in the PSAC in doubles (13) and is tied for second in RBIs (35).

  • Game 1: Peyton Brannock earned his third win of the season, pitching 4.2 innings and striking out three.
  • Game 2: Patrick Yoder secured the victory with 1.2 innings pitched, allowing just two hits on 30 pitches.

  • Jack Rothenhausler: Batted .833 with three home runs, one double, and nine RBIs.
  • Dennis Pierce: Went 4-for-5, launching three home runs and driving in seven RBIs.
  • Parker Frey: Contributed with a three-run home run in the fourth inning of Game 1.

Game 1 Recap

The Warriors took control early, as Rothenhausler launched a three-run home run to right-center in the first inning. The Huskies responded with a run in the bottom of the second, but ESU quickly extended its lead.
  • Rothenhausler's solo homer and Pierce's three-run blast made it 8-1 after three innings.
  • Frey added another three-run homer in the fifth, pushing the score to 11-1.
  • Consecutive hits from Frey, Bryce D'Amico, Ryan Manning, and Connor Reilly in the seventh sealed the dominant 14-1 victory.

ESU struck first with a solo shot from Pierce in the opening frame, but Bloomsburg responded, taking a 3-2 lead by the bottom of the first. The Warriors' offense quickly regained momentum.
