EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University women's lacrosse team delivered a commanding performance Saturday afternoon, rolling to an 18-3 win over Millersville at Whitenight Field.
With the victory, the Warriors improved to 11-4 overall and 8-2 in PSAC East play as they continue their push toward postseason positioning.
ESU's offense erupted behind a balanced scoring attack led by Ariana Tucci, who tallied four goals and two assists, including two free-position goals. Sadie Kauffman matched Tucci's scoring output with four goals and one assist, adding two man-up goals and two free-position conversions.
The Warriors opened with a 3-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, outscoring Millersville 8-2 in the second to take an 11-2 lead into halftime. Lauren Hallman and Hannah Schiemer each recorded hat tricks, while Jolee Roth added two goals and two assists, playing a key role in transition and late-half offense.
On the defensive end, goalkeeper Abby Simonetti was stellar, recording 14 saves while allowing just three goals in 60 minutes. The ESU defense caused six turnovers and held Millersville scoreless in the third quarter. Delia Lederman contributed on both ends of the field with a goal, an assist, a caused turnover and a ground ball.
The Warriors also dominated draw controls, winning 15 of 23, led by Kauffman's five wins. ESU outshot Millersville 32-20 and converted 5 of 8 free-position opportunities, showcasing efficiency and discipline throughout.
Offensive Highlights
Tucci led all scorers with four goals and two assists, including two free-position goals.
Kauffman recorded four goals and one assist, adding two man-up goals and two free-position scores.
Hallman and Schiemer each tallied three goals. Hallman scored all her goals in the first half, while Schiemer added two in the second quarter.
Roth contributed two goals and two assists and played a key role in transition.
Campbell Heller added two assists.
Defensive Highlights
Simonetti posted 14 saves on 17 shots on goal for an .823 save percentage, including multiple free-position stops.
Lederman added a goal, an assist, a caused turnover and a ground ball, and contributed on man-up defense.
The defense held Millersville to one goal in the second half and caused six turnovers.
ESU won the draw control battle 15-8, led by Kauffman's five draws.
