No. 12 Warriors Celebrate Senior Day with Shutout Sweep of Huskies

STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University softball team completed a shutout sweep of Bloomsburg on Friday at Creekview Park, earning 5-0 and 3-0 victories.

The Warriors (40-9-1, 24-5-1 PSAC East) showcased why they are the top seed in the PSAC East, blanking the Huskies (28-16, 18-12 PSAC East) in both ends of the doubleheader.

Prior to first pitch, ESU honored its five seniors—Taylor Lipkins, Shannon Edelman, Abigail Weirich, Katie Master, and Abbie Landrum—for their contributions to one of the most successful runs in program history. During their time at ESU, the group helped the program break the single-season wins record three times, win back-to-back PSAC East titles, make two NCAA tournament appearances, and capture an NCAA Atlantic Region title.

Notables
Both Warrior pitchers tossed complete-game shutouts. Sarah Davenport struck out seven and allowed just five baserunners on 96 pitches. Followed by Meadow Lake, who needed only 61 pitches, surrendering just five baserunners over seven innings.

Taylor Lipkins collected five hits on the day, scoring twice and adding an RBI.

Tatum Kresley reached base four times with three hits and a walk, scoring two runs. Her 24 multi-hit games are the most by a Warrior since 2002.

Tulana Mingin reached base three times, recording a two-RBI double and scoring once.

How It Happened – Game 1
The Warriors scored all five of their runs in the second inning behind three hits, three walks, and an error. RBI singles from Lipkins and Kresley, along with a two-run double by Mingin, gave ESU all the offense it needed. Davenport went the distance for her 10th shutout of the season.

How It Happened – Game 2
Lake followed with a dominant outing of her own, throwing just 61 pitches in a complete-game shutout. ESU again struck early, with

Delaney Ridgell driving in Lipkins and Kresley in the first. Kaitlynn Colangelo added an RBI single to score Weirich in the third to cap the scoring.

Up next
The Warriors conclude the regular season with a doubleheader at Mansfield on Saturday at 2 p.m. ESU will enter the PSAC Championship Tournament next week as the top seed from the PSAC East, with games set to begin Wednesday, April 30, in Quakertown, Pa.
