EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa- The Warriors (8-4, 5-2 PSAC East) bounce back after a close loss to NO.1 West Chester on Wednesday. Led by impressive performances from sophomore
Ariana Tucci and freshman
Sadie Kauffman, the East Stroudsburg University lacrosse team was able to topple Shepherd 17-14, Saturday afternoon at Whitenight Field.
In a game filled with a lot of scoring, it was Tucci and Kauffman who left their handprints all over. Tucci saw seven balls hit the back of the net for goals and Kauffman added six more goals as well as two assists. It was a closely contested game, but ultimately the Shepard Rams could not keep up with ESU's explosive offense.
Senior midfielder
Mac Maloney had a strong performance, which featured four caused turnovers, scooping up four ground balls while scoring a coast to coast goal.
Emily Varilla and Kauffman had a game-high seven draw controls which helped the ESU offense get going throughout the game.
Offensive Notables
Kauffman now has 58 goals, 16 assists, and 74 points through 12 games. Her 58 goals put her in second place for goals scored by a freshman in ESU history.
Tucci led the Warriors with a season-high seven goals. She now has 33 goals, 12 assists, and 45 points on the season

Lauren Hallman led the team with five ground balls recovered as well as causing three turnovers
Maloney led the team with four caused turnovers while recovering another four ground balls
Varilla caused 3 turnovers and
Molly Atwell caused two more as they played tough defense throughout the contest

The Warriors return to play next Saturday, April 12th for a home matchup against Kutztown. The game is slated for a 12pm start at Whitenight Field. This game will honor Alyssa Oxenford as well as being the Alumni Appreciation game.
