SLIPPERY ROCK - Freshman Shannon Harnett won conference championships in the high jump and triple jump and was named Women's Outstanding Field Athlete as East Stroudsburg University finished fourth of 14 schools at the PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which concluded Saturday at Slippery Rock.

Senior Samiyah Little defended her PSAC championship in the hammer throw with an NCAA Provisional mark of 53.79m (176-6) and is a four-time PSAC champion, the most by a thrower in program history. She also won the weight throw indoors each of the last two years

Harnett had NCAA Provisional marks of 1.74m (5-8 1/2) to win the high jump which set an ESU freshman record and 12.06m (39-7) to claim the triple jump, and was also third in the long jump at 5.77m (18-11 1/4). She won three PSAC titles as a freshman, also winning the triple jump during the indoor season.

Harnett is ESU's fourth PSAC outdoor champ in the high jump which was the third best in program history, following multiple-time champions Karen Way (1988, 90-91), Lynn Mayer (2010-11) and Christina O'Connor (2014-15), and just the second outdoor champ in the triple jump, along with Quanette Jester (1998).

Freshman Porschia Bennett, the PSAC indoor champion, was runner-up to Harnett in the high jump with an NCAA provisional 1.71m (5-7 1/4).

Sophomore Payton Falkenstein and freshman Riley Trentowski also turned in runner-up finishes plus an additional scoring performance.

Falkenstein was second in the 10,000m in 38:09.86, and fourth in the 5000m in 18:31.00. She won the PSAC indoor title in the 5000m this winter.

Trentowski broke the school freshman record by earning second in the 1500m in 4:38.53 which is the third best time in school history, and was seventh in the 800m in 2:20.51.

Sophomore Makayla Smith was sixth in the 100m hurdles in 15.02, improving her spot on the top ten list to sixth best.
