How it happened
The ESU bats stayed hot, scoring a run in the second, third and fourth innings to take a 3-1 lead. RBIs came from Reilly and Pierce, the latter via a solo home run.
After Fairmont State got one run back to make it a one-run game, the Warriors broke it open with a four-run sixth inning on four hits.
Francisco Taveras drove in Reilly, who had doubled. Albus followed with a two-run double to plate Taveras and
Shanley Wall.
Parker Frey capped the inning with an RBI single to score
Jack Rothenhausler.
Pierce added his second RBI of the game in the seventh. ESU tacked on three more in the eighth, starting with a sacrifice fly from Rothenhausler. A double steal by Frey and
Walker Zampella led to an errant throw that allowed Frey to score. Zampella later crossed the plate on Reilly's fifth hit of the day.
