LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) has announced its 2024-25 All-Conference tennis awards, with East Stroudsburg University sweeping all PSAC East major honors and placing three Warriors on the All-PSAC East First Team.
In just his second season at the helm, head coach
Troy Haas was named PSAC East Coach of the Year after guiding the Warriors to an 18-7 overall record and a 5-1 conference mark. Under Haas' leadership, ESU reached the PSAC semifinals for the first time 45 years. He becomes just the second head coach in program history to receive the honor, joining now current ESU golf coach Al McCormick (2007-08).
Graduate student
Marketa Beladova was named PSAC East Athlete of the Year following an undefeated 7-0 record at the No. 1 singles spot in conference play and a 16-2 overall mark. The Czech Republic native and transfer from Shepherd University closed out the season on a 10-match win streak. Beladova becomes the fourth Warrior to earn Athlete of the Year honors, joining Elina Joronen (2022-23), Amanda Kaufman (2011-12), and Katie D'Ambrosia (2010-11). She was also named to the All-PSAC East First Team for the second consecutive year, with her first selection coming during her time at Shepherd.
Freshman
Ariel Kelsick earned PSAC East Freshman of the Year after a record-breaking season in which she set a new program mark for most singles wins in a season. The Antigua native posted a 20-9 overall record, including a 6-1 mark in PSAC play while competing primarily at No. 4 singles. Kelsick becomes the third Warrior to earn the honor, joining Kaufman (2008-09) and D'Ambrosia (2007-08).
Lea Stefanovic was named to the All-PSAC East First Team after a standout debut season. Returning from a fall knee injury, Stefanovic secured the No. 2 singles spot and compiled a 14-4 overall record (4-3 PSAC). She also contributed key victories across multiple singles positions, including No. 1 (1-0), No. 2 (11-4), No. 4 (1-0), and No. 5 (1-0), helping lead ESU to its first PSAC semifinal appearance since the 2009-10 season.
In doubles play, the European duo of Beladova (Czech Republic) and
Louise Boyer-Vidal (France) earned All-PSAC East First Team honors. The pair went 13-4 overall and 6-0 in conference competition. They are just the second ESU doubles team to earn All-PSAC First Team recognition since Amber Jadus and Kayla Loar in 2015-16.
