Adrian Brito Joins ESU Men’s Basketball with International Pedigree

East Stroudsburg, PA — Incoming East Stroudsburg University men's basketball freshman Adrian Brito brought global experience and standout talent to campus this summer after representing the Dominican Republic at the FIBA 19U World Cup in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Brito, a 6'6" forward from Pocono Mountain West, played a pivotal role for the Dominican Republic across seven tournament games, averaging 10.4 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist in 24.4 minutes per contest. His high-efficiency shooting included 55.8% from the field and 61.5% on two-point attempts.

Among Brito's top performances:

  • Scored 21 points on 66.7% shooting against Australia in the Round of 16, adding 5 rebounds and 3 assists.

  • Delivered 19 points against Jordan in the placement playoff finale, shooting 80% from the field and grabbing 5 rebounds.

  • Recorded a double-digit scoring and rebounding effort against Switzerland, posting 10 points and 11 boards.

The Dominican Republic team earned victories in both of its matchups against Jordan and played competitive games against Australia, Israel, Serbia, Cameroon, and Switzerland. Brito finished the tournament with a 12.7 efficiency rating and made key defensive contributions with 9 blocks and 6 steals.

At Pocono Mountain West, Brito amassed 1,409 career points, helping lead his team to a 22-4 record, an undefeated run in the EPC Monroe Division, and a District XI 5A Championship. His resume includes First Team All-EPC honors and AAU experience with Team Fermin and Philly Pride.

Now on campus at East Stroudsburg University, Brito arrives battle-tested on the international stage and primed to be an immediate contributor for the Warriors in the upcoming 2025–26 season.
