SCOUTING EAST STROUDSBURG

  • East Stroudsburg pushed its winning streak to five games after a 102-76 victory against Mansfield on Thursday night. The Warriors improved to 12-4 overall and 6-3 in the conference, currently tied with West Chester and Millersville for the 1st seed in the PSAC East.

  • The offensive explosion has come from players throughout the lineup, specifically Adrian Brito and Ethan Maynard, the two leading scorers for ESU. In the last two games, they have combined to average 31.0 PPG. Brito had a very impressive stat line against Mansfield, recording 17 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Maynard has made over three three-pointers in two straight games and has excelled on the defensive side of the floor, tallying over five steals in both victories. • Ethan Millirons, the conference’s most consistent three-point shooter, continued his prolific season, hitting six threes. In the past two games, he’s shot 66.7% from downtown.
  • The Warriors’ dominant performances inside have continued, as Carson Howard scored 12 points and brought in six rebounds last game. He has been a force in the paint this season, averaging 8.9 PPG and 4.6 RPG.
  • East Stroudsburg has done a stellar job of sharing the ball, averaging a PSAC-best 18.1 APG. They have also been doing very well on the glass, out-rebounding opponents by 6.1 RPG, which is 3rd in the PSAC. The Warriors continue to punish teams with their bench, averaging a 44.9 bench PPG, second-best in the country.

SCOUTING SHIPPENSBURG

  • Shippensburg had a big bounce-back win against Kutztown on Thursday night, ending their three-game skid. They are currently 7-9 on the season with a record of 2-7 in the conference.
  • Shippensburg is led by a three-headed dragon of scoring threats — Markus Frank, Jaydon Smith, and Michael Dickson. The three of them are combining for 48.2 of their team’s 76.8 PPG. In their win over Kutztown, Frank, Smith, and Dickson were the only players to hit double-figures, tallying up 44 of the team’s 65 total points.
  • Markus Frank has not only been the leader in scoring for the Raiders, but also the co-leader in scoring for the PSAC, along with Indiana (Pa.)’s Dallis Dillard. He notched 32 points in a tight victory over Wilmington (Del.) earlier in the year on Nov. 22.
  • The Raiders’ Jaydon Smith has been knocking down threes all season, averaging 15.2 PPG and shooting 38.0% from behind the arc. The deep threat had an outstanding game in a win over PSAC West’s Clarion, shooting 6-6 from three-point range and finishing with 27 points.
