EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. — The ESU men's wrestling team held its fourth-place regional rankings when the list was released Thursday, and
Luke Ciampa moved up one spot in the Division II individual rankings as well.
ESU finished the poll with 41 votes and six wrestlers ranked, trailing Pitt-Johnstown, Gannon, and Kutztown, while holding a lead over Frostburg State, Millersville, Seton Hill, and Fairmont State. Ciampa stayed in third place in the regional rankings, but his performance at the Virginia Duals helped him jump a spot in the Division II rankings to 12
th place at 184 pounds. Ciampa has gone 25-5 on the season so far.
Filling out the rest of the regional rankings for the Warriors was another third-place ranking,
Brady Carter (125), two fourth-place finishes,
Gavin Reynolds (157) and
Ajay Hiller (285), and a fifth-place ranking,
Austin Noe (149), and a sixth-place ranking,
Robert Burke (197).
The Warriors head up to Erie, Pa., tomorrow to take on Gannon, the second-best-ranked team in the region, and West Liberty at 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
