MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The No. 15 East Stroudsburg University softball team opened its Florida trip by splitting its first two games against Bentley and No. 23 Barry on Friday.
Game 1 – Bentley
Sarah Davenport (W, 1-0) allowed just three hits and no runs while striking out 12 batters.
The Warriors tallied hits from Tulana Mingin, Delaney Ridgell, Kinsley Proepper, Katie Master, Megan Chroniger, and Maddin Grow. Chroniger scored the game's only run with a solo home run to right field in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Game 2 – Barry
Marissa Perez, Mingin, and Proepper each recorded a hit, while Karlye Teman drove in the Warriors' lone run.
In the top of the first inning, Perez was hit by a pitch and moved to second on a wild pitch. Mingin's single through the left side of the infield advanced Perez to third. Perez later scored on a groundout from Teman.
The Buccaneers scored their first run in the bottom of the second inning. Barry broke the game open in the fifth inning, scoring four runs on four hits to take a 5-1 lead, then added three more runs in the sixth.

The Warriors continue their Florida trip with matchups against Saginaw Valley State and Barry on Saturday, February 7. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:30 p.m., followed by the second game at 4:00 p.m.
