ORLANDO, Fla. – To kick off a series of matches in Orlando, Fla., the Warriors pulled off the 7-0 sweep against Winona State in the Sunday afternoon matchup. The team has now improved to 6-3 on the season, extending its win streak to four.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Theresa Bauer and
Lea Stefanovic kicked off the action in doubles play with a 6-2 win.
Nia Vivas Montoya and
Bega Gotor followed suit to secure the doubles point. The duo of
Jenna Kastell and
Ariel Kelsick solidified the sweep for ESU.
The momentum carried into the singles matches with
Alice Ehrenlechner shutting out her opponent in both sets. Following,
Audrey Conover won both of her sets, allowing Vivas Montoya to lock in the win for the Warriors. Kastell continued the strong showing with a two-set win of her own. In a turn of events, Kelsick dropped the first set, but rallied back to send the match into a super tiebreaker, winning 10-4. Stefanovic was the last match off the court, looking to complete the sweep. After winning the first set, 6-3, the second went into a tiebreak set where Stefanovic came out on top, earning the team's seventh point.

ESU will look to continue this domination in its next matchup on Monday afternoon, continuing the series of duals in Orlando, Fla. against St. Thomas Aquinas.
