LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) announced Wednesday that Shannon Harnett has been named the PSAC Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive season.
Harnett played a key role in her team's runner-up finish at the 2026 PSAC Indoor Championships, scoring 21 of the team's 88 total points. She captured first place in the high jump, finished third in the triple jump, and placed fourth in the long jump.
Throughout the season, Harnett set new school records in both the high jump and triple jump, while tying the long jump record. On Feb. 14 at the Widener Indoor Classic, she surpassed her own triple jump record with a leap of 12.10 meters (39 feet, 8 inches ½). She matched the long jump record of 5.76 meters (18 feet, 10 inches ¾) at the PSAC Indoor Championships, a mark that was originally set in 2018.
Harnett capped the indoor season at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships by breaking a 49-year-old conference record in the high jump, clearing 1.79 meters (5 feet, 10 inches ½) to earn a runner-up finish.
Following her standout performance at the Widener Indoor Classic, she was named PSAC Indoor Field Athlete of the Week on Feb. 16. She also earned Atlantic Region Women's Field Athlete of the Year honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
