BLOOMSBURG, Pa. — The East Stroudsburg University softball team clinched a spot in the 2026 PSAC Softball Tournament after splitting with Bloomsburg on Friday. The Warriors took the first game, 7-5, before falling 6-2 in the second game.
Game 1
Sarah Davenport earned the win in the circle, improving to 19-8 while striking out eight batters.
Karlye Teman went 3-for-3 at the plate with a run scored, while Megan Chroniger added two hits and a run.
The Warriors struck first in the top of the first, as Tulana Mingin scored on Kinsley Proepper's RBI single to center field.
Bloomsburg answered in the bottom of the inning, scoring two runs on three hits and an error to take a 2-1 lead.
East Stroudsburg broke the game open with a six-run fourth inning to move ahead 7-2. Proepper led off with a walk before Chroniger and Katie Master recorded back-to-back singles, tying the game at 2-2 as Macy Crum scored. Teman followed with an RBI double to left field, giving the Warriors a 3-2 lead. Kaitlynn Colangelo added a two-RBI double to right field to extend the lead to 5-2. Maddin Grow capped the inning with a two-RBI triple to right center, pushing the score to 7-2.
The Huskies scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth before scoring their final run in the bottom of the seventh.
Game 2
Proepper opened the second inning with a home run to left center to give ESU a 1-0 lead.
The Huskies took the lead in the bottom of the fourth with back-to-back RBI hits. Bloomsburg later extended its lead to 3-1 in the fifth, scoring one run on three hits.
In the sixth, Mingin and Grow led off with consecutive singles, and Mingin later scored on Delaney Ridgell's sacrifice fly to centerfield, cutting the deficit to 3-2.
The Huskies responded with three runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure the 6-2 win.
