EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. — Three members of the ESU baseball team were honored by the National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) as All-Atlantic Region players this year, as
Cole Dymek and
Walker Zampella were named to the First Team, and
Ryan Dewees earned Second Team honors.
Dymek, a sophomore reliever who has become ESU's most trusted arm out of the bullpen, has been lights out this season. After another scoreless outing against Bloomsburg in yesterday's regional game, his ERA dropped to 1.19. He's limiting batters to a .215 batting average against and has struck out 33 in 30.1 IP. He picked up his second win to improve to 2-0 yesterday, going along with his team-high five saves on the season.
Zampella has the longest reached-base streak on the team this season, with a stretch of 22-straight games earlier in the year. He's one game away from matching that total with his current streak, as he's third on the team with an OPS of .965 and a SLG% of .515.
Dewees has been the leader of ESU's rotation this season, earning All-PSAC East First Team honors after finishing as the conference's strikeout leader. Now up to 84, his 7-2 record is tied for the best on the team, leading the Warriors with a 3.06 ERA in 70.2 IP.
