BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- The East Stroudsburg University softball team powered past Slippery Rock on the first day of the 2026 PSAC Softball Tournament with an 18-6 victory. The Warriors' bats stayed hot as ESU combined for 15 hits and four home runs.

The Warriors totaled 15 hits, including four home runs. Megan Chroniger and Karlye Teman each hit one home run, while Kinsley Proepper launched two. Teman, Proepper, and Delaney Ridgell each recorded two hits. Teman and Maddin Grow scored three runs apiece, while Ridgell, Chroniger, and Proepper each crossed the plate twice.
Proepper had a career day, going 3-for-5 with two home runs and six RBIs.
Sarah Davenport earned the win, improving to 21-8 on the season while striking out seven.
How it Happened
The Warriors took an early 4-0 lead in the first inning behind Chroniger's three-run homer to right field. Tulana Mingin led off with a single, stole second, then scored on Maddin Grow's bunt, 1-0. Ridgell followed with a single through the right side before Proepper's flyout advanced both runners. Chroniger then delivered her 10th home run of the season to extend the lead to 4-0.
The Warriors scored two runs in each of the next four innings. In the second inning, back-to-back RBI singles from Ridgell and Proepper scored Marissa Perez and Grow to make it 6-0. In the third inning, Maddy Pritchard and Teman hit consecutive singles to the outfield. Macy Crum pinch ran for Pritchard and stole third while Teman stole second. Both runners later scored on a left fielder's error during Perez's at-bat.
Slippery Rock got on the board in the bottom of the third, scoring one run on one hit.
In the fourth, Katie Master doubled to right center before Teman launched a two-run homer to left center to push the lead to 10-1.
Proepper added her first home run of the game in the fifth inning with a two-run shot to right field after Kylie Ingram pinch ran for Ridgell following a walk.
The Rock cut into the deficit with five runs across the fifth and sixth innings, trimming the score to 12-6.
The Warriors answered with six more runs in the seventh inning. With Grow and Ridgell on, Proepper delivered her second home run of the day with a three-run shot to left field to extend the lead to 15-6. Chroniger later scored on Pritchard's RBI single before Kaitlynn Colangelo capped the scoring with a two-RBI double to left center, 18-6.
