GREENSBORO, N.C. — The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) released its 2026 NCAA Division II Region All-Defensive Teams on Thursday afternoon, as first baseman
Parker Frey was the Atlantic Region's honoree for the second consecutive season.
The 2026 ABCA NCAA Division II Region All-Defensive Teams are voted on by members of the ABCA, and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Division II All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
Frey made 365 putouts and recorded 13 assists, only making one error for a .997 fielding percentage in 2026. His fielding percentage was tied for first in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) among fielders who recorded at least 150 putouts. Frey had five games of double-digit putouts, with his season-high of 13 coming in the PSAC Quarterfinals against Gannon in the Warriors' 11-inning win.
Frey was the Atlantic Region first base representative for the second year in a row, after he made 404 putouts and 31 assists for a .998 fielding percentage last season. He concluded his career with the second-most career putouts in program history, recording 1,183, while finishing with three of the fifth-most putouts in a single season. His 364 this season ranks fourth all-time, while his 404 putouts in 2025 were second, and his 355 in 2024 were the fifth-most by an ESU fielder.
Founded in 1945, the ABCA is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Its over 15,000 members represent all 50 states and 41 countries. Since its initial meeting of 27 college baseball coaches in June 1945, Association membership has broadened to include nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, NJCAA, Pacific Association Division, High School, Youth and Travel.
