WILMINGTON, Del. — In a high-offense matchup against the Wilmington Wildcats, the Warriors fell 1-0 on Tuesday afternoon. ESU now sits at 2-3 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The first half started as a close contest with both teams showing off their offense. However, after the 16th minute, Wilmington started to outpace the Warriors, rattling off three more shots before ESU could record another one of their own. This was much of the story for the rest of the first half, but defenses held their own as the game remained scoreless into the half.
• The Wildcats kept their offensive focus into the second half, scoring the first goal of the game at the 46th minute. They followed it with five more shots in the next 10 minutes of play. The Warriors found some momentum in the 57th minute, giving

• Down by one goal still with 15 minutes remaining, ESU searched to make scoring opportunities, taking five shots within an eight-minute span. Unfortunately for the Warriors, none of them could make it in and they couldn't get another chance before the final whistle.
GAME NOTES
• Eight different Warriors recorded a shot with Cardona and Rennie leading the way in the category, notching three a piece. Despite this, Wilmington outshot ESU, 21-13, with both teams having five shots on goal.

The Warriors will return home for action against Lackawanna at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
