Biography

2024 Season Highlights: Aidan Hayward brought veteran leadership and disruptive energy to the Warriors' defensive front in his final campaign. The graduate student appeared in all 11 games, tallying 12 total tackles and a career-best 4.0 sacks. He notched a pair of sacks in the Warriors’ dominant win over Shepherd (Nov. 9) and added single sacks in back-to-back road matchups at Shippensburg (Nov. 2) and California (Pa.) (Nov. 23). Hayward also recorded a season-high three tackles in the NCAA First Round at California and contributed a fumble recovery in the season opener at Edinboro (Aug. 29). His consistent pressure and veteran poise made him a pivotal piece of a defense that helped power ESU’s postseason run.

Graduate Student (2023): Appeared in all 12 games… registered 13 tackles including 9 solo stops … contributed with three solo tackles against Shippensburg (10/28)… totaled 4.5 sacks, one at IUP (9/9), two against Shippensburg (10/28), and one against California (Pa.) (11/11)… forced fumbles, against Pace (8/31) and California (Pa.).

Redshirt Junior (2022): Appeared in 10 games, making four starts at defensive end ... totaled 10 tackles ... recorded multiple tackes in three contests ... tallied a sack against Shepherd ... posted .5 sack against Millersville ... finished season with three tackles for loss.

Redshirt Sophomore (2021):  Appeared in all 11 games, making seven starts … posted 16 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles (tied for team lead)  … Recorded 1.5 sacks and four tackles against Pace.
