Followed that game up with nine total tackles and .5 sacks in win against Pace (9/4)... Recorded a solo TFL and four tackles in win against Shippensburg (11/18)... Tied season-high with nine total tackles at Shepherd with eight solos (10/25)... Finished season with six solo tackles and two assists in win against Clarion (11/15).
Redshirt Freshman (2024): Mason Smith stepped into a larger defensive role and delivered a breakout season, finishing with 34 total tackles, including a season-high 12 stops against Shepherd (Nov. 9). He also contributed 9 tackles at Shippensburg (Nov. 2) and recorded 0.5 tackles for loss in that performance. Smith showed his range and instincts at linebacker, posting at least one tackle in seven of his nine appearances.
Known for his blend of sideline-to-sideline speed and disciplined reads, Smith transitioned from a limited role in 2023 into a steady contributor in 2024. With 36 career tackles already under his belt, he’s quickly building a foundation for leadership in the heart of the Warriors’ defense.
