ITHACA, N.Y. – Senior Lynn Mayer tied her own school record and NCAA automatic qualifying mark in the high jump and senior Negus Graham and freshman Nicole Brown set school records in the men's and women's 300m dash to lead East Stroudsburg University at the Deneault Invitational on Saturday at Cornell.

Mayer cleared 5-9 1/4 for the second time this year, tying Karen (Way) Gaita's school record originally set in 1991, as she prepares to defend her PSAC indoor and outdoor titles at next weekend's PSAC Championships at Edinboro. The four-time All-American has won all seven meets she has entered and has the fifth-best mark in Division II this season.

Graham set his second school record this indoor season and the third of his career with a time of 34.42 in the men's 300m, breaking the record of 35.10 set by Manuel Ferreira in 1989. Graham set the 500m record (1:05.38) at Kutztown last month and holds the indoor and outdoor records in the 400m, along with spots on four record-setting relay teams.

Brown broke a 19-year old record in the women's 300m, sprinting to a time of 41.85 to eclipse Michelle Cole's mark of 42.52 set in 1992. Brown ran the lead leg on the Warriors' school record 4x400 relay that ran a time of 3:53.73 last weekend at the Armory in New York City.

Sophomore Corinne Fitzgerald ran the second-fastest time in school history to finish third in the women's mile in 5:07.42. She ran a 5:07 split on the winning Distance Medley Relay two weeks ago at the DeSchriver Invitational and is an NCAA Division II provisional qualifier in the 5000m. Fitzgerald is also the school record holder in the 3000m steeplechase outdoors.

Other top performances came from senior Jasmine Johnson, who was second in the 400m (58.44), and freshman Rachel Pierantozzi, who was ninth in the 60m dash with a season best of 8.04 seconds. Sophomore Lauren Ventrella was 10th in the 60m hurdles (9.34) and senior Brittany Knowles was 12th in 9.43 seconds, the third-best time on ESU's top 10. Ventrella set the school record in 8.94 seconds last year.

Freshman Laura Beimfohr was fifth in the women's pole vault at 10-10 and senior Steph Weber tied her best mark of the year at 9-10. Senior Danielle Laws (weight throw, 48-0 3/4) and senior Jackie Berthelsen (shot put, 37-10 1/2) both finished fourth in their events.

On the men's side, freshmen Keith Parker-Washington and Kyle Touhy ran top 10 times in the 300m to compliment Graham's school record. Parker-Washington was eighth in 36.86, missing the freshman record by three-tenths of a second, and Touhy was 10th in 37.45.

Sophomore Mike Saparito was fourth in the 1000m with a time of 2:32.26, fifth-best in ESU's record book, following his school record performance in the 800m last weekend.. Senior Mahmoud Aldeen was seventh in the 500m (1:10.29) and sophomore Amr Aldeen placed sixth in the mile (4:28.77).

Freshman James Homola led the men's field athletes, tying his season best with a mark of 14-9 to finish third in the pole vault. Freshman Corey Kresge was sixth in the long jump (21-11 3/4).

The PSAC Championships will be held on Saturday and Sunday at Edinboro. The Warriors' men have finished in the top three for four straight years, including a runner-up finish last season. The women were third last season for their best finish since 2005.
