EAST STROUDSBURG – The twenty-second ranked East Stroudsburg University men's wrestling team opened its 2019-20 dual schedule on Friday night against nationally-ranked No. 1 Pitt-Johnstown in a PSAC matchup. The Warriors dropped a 38-8 decision against the Mountain Cats inside Koehler Fieldhouse.
ESU (0-1, 0-1 PSAC) received a pair of victories from junior
Marquan Payne and redshirt senior
Mike Raccioppi.
The Mountain Cats would take a 9-0 lead in the match as Tyler Warner defeated freshman
Bryce Parenti via a 6-1 decision at 133 pounds. UPJ took a 6-0 lead to start the dual as ESU forfeited the 125-pound bout.
Payne got ESU onto the scoreboard with a 13-7 decision against UPJ's Jacob Smith at 157 pounds. Pitt-Johnstown increased its lead in the match to 24-3 following a 9-0 victory via a major decision from Devin Austin at 165 pounds against ESU senior
Pierre Liciaga.
Raccioppi recorded an 18-3 tech. fall victory at 174 pounds for ESU against the Mountain Cats' Brock Biddle. The victory for Raccioppi trimmed the Warriors' deficit in the match to 24-8.
Pitt-Johnstown closed the dual with victories at 184, 197, and 285 pounds to secure the 38-8 victory against the Warriors.

The Warriors host the ESU Open on Sunday, Nov. 10 at Koehler Fieldhouse beginning at 9 a.m. ESU returns to the dual portion of its schedule on Nov. 20 with a matchup at the University of Scranton beginning at 7 p.m.
